A computer consultant/developer by day and many nights (and 24/7 President of Macs Ventures Ltd. and Executive Director of Max Radio Society), by night Phil Kushnir has performed as a mobile music disc jockey for over 40 years. In addition, he has an extensive background in radio broadcasting including on-air work at CFRO-FM, CJIV-AM, CFBV-AM, CJXX-AM, CJOR-AM, CJJR-FM, CHRX-AM, CISQ-FM, CKNS-FM and CKJN-FM.

Phil operates LG73, on behalf of Max Radio Society. LG73 is a popular Internet radio station named after a former Vancouver Top 40 giant (CKLG-AM 730), winner of the Live365 Best Pop Station Award in both 2004 and 2005 (the only two years Live365 had broadcaster awards). Additionally, Phil was awarded the 2005 Live365 Best On-air Personality Award. All that within a field of over 16,000 active stations on the Live365 service in 2005. In March 2013, on behalf of Max Radio Society, Phil split LG73 into two distinct Internet Radio Stations, creating the eclectic Max Radio and focussing LG73 on classic and contemporary hits.

LG73 and Max Radio are available in the iTunes Radio Tuner in the Top 40/Pop genre (LG73) and Eclectic genre (Max Radio). LG73, Max Radio and new 2017 additions New West Rock and Uptown Radio are featured stations in the StreamS Hi-fi Radio App for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and 4th generation Apple TV.

Phil is exceptionally gifted at reading a crowd and dynamically adjusting the music mix to consistently give people the best dance experience.

The music and disc jockey selection is a critical part of the success of your reception. Phil will have an initial discussion with you prior to your booking to determine if your event and Phil are the right fit.

Once your event is booked, Phil includes a music consultation and event planning meeting. Phil will work with you to insure your event runs smoothly. Phil puts in the preparation time needed to make sure of that. You don't have to risk ruining your event with a “discount disc jockey” (unless you either feel really lucky or you don't believe having a great DJ makes a difference).

Phil Kushnir provides a unique combination of talent, experience, an enormous, all digital licensed music library, extremely high quality audio and lighting gear and the determination to make each event the best one ever. Whether performing as a master of ceremonies or spinning the latest dance groove, you can count on Phil to keep your party entertained with a vibrant, professional presentation.

Phil System

Phil’s system includes the Pioneer DDJ-S1 controller/mixer with Serato DJ software, QSC K10 professional powered speakers mounted on either JBL branded Ultimate Support stands or pole mounts on the subs, EV Powered Subs, iLoud, HotSpot and Altec Lansing monitors, Shure SM58 microphone, Shure SM58 wireless microphone and a MacBook Pro with a solid state drive (SSD). All equipment is top-of-the-line quality professional gear for maximum reliability and the best performance.

Music presentation includes “beat match mixing” where appropriate for greater dancing satisfaction.

A professional light show including Chauvet professional LED and laser lighting is included.

A music planning and coordination meeting is included with this service at no extra cost. A typical event includes 3 hours of listening/background music and 4 hours of dance music for $1428.57 + GST (total $1500).

This is a limited availability service offered to existing preferred clients and select new clients.

A 50% deposit is required to secure an event. Balance is due 7 days prior to the event.
